for adult. Scarlet rump. Male centre of belly and undertail-coverts black; displays w. grass stem
held by one end in bill. Female below only undertail-coverts blackish. Ssp negligible differences
from nominate bella; ssp interposita in Big Heath Conservation Park, SW of Naracoorte, SE SA &
nearby. samueli Kangaroo Island & Mount Lofty Range, SE SA. In heaths & woodlands. Sedentary.
