Notes: Tiny, colourful, pattern of spots, white supercilium, short deep bill. Male ssp punctatus
black crown w. silver spots, bright yellow throat & breast; upperparts w. coarse buff spots, rump
orange-rufous. Female duller, w. creamy spots on greyer crown, throat less intense yellow.
Ssp millitaris similar, but spots on upperparts paler. Ssp xanthopyge (Yellow-rumped Pardalote )
rump & most of uppertail-coverts orange-yellow. In eucalypt forests & dryer mallee.
